Did you try downloading it from the website and not the app? I had an issue with another game trying to download it on my deck. I went into desktop mode and downloaded off of itch's website
Welp.... I don't know what changed, but I got it installed and working. I tried this way before on both Chrome and Firefox and got an error about exceeding browser file size(?). This time it worked(I used Chrome), so thanks for this reply. I was like, "wont hurt to try again.", so I'm glad I did.

Update: I got it up and running on my deck using desktop mode then adding it to my steam library that way
